Why we moved to Roanoke Texas!
If you are looking for a charming, close-knit community with easy access to big cities, then Roanoke, Texas, could be the perfect place for you.
Located in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, Roanoke has been recognized as one of the best cities to live in Texas.
As a real estate agent in Texas, I have had the pleasure of exploring many cities throughout the state. In this blog, I will share with you why I believe Roanoke stands out as one of the best places to live in Texas.
Small Town Charm with Big City Heart
Roanoke is a small town with a population of around 10,000 people. Despite its small size, it is situated perfectly in the Metroplex. It is only 30 minutes from Dallas and 30 minutes to Fort Worth, making it easy to access all over the Dallas Fort Worth Metroplex. Roanoke offers a small-town charm with big-city heart. HGTV even chose Roanoke in 2019 to feature their smart home, so it's definitely a city to watch.
Community Events
As someone who loves community events, Roanoke is the perfect place for me. The city hosts many events throughout the year, giving residents plenty of opportunities to get involved in their community. When I explore new cities, I always look for what kind of community events are hosted there. Roanoke offers a variety of events that cater to all interests, making it an excellent place to connect with your neighbors and make new friends.
Location
One of the main reasons my husband and I chose Roanoke was its location. The city offers easy access to Dallas, Fort Worth, and South Lake. It was crucial for me to have easy access to these cities as my work requires me to drive all over the Metroplex. Roanoke also has everything you could possibly need, despite its small size. It has a Home Depot, grocery stores, major banks, nail salons, gyms, parks, and trails. If you're looking for convenience, Roanoke has it all.
Dining
Roanoke offers some of the best dining in the area. There are plenty of options for every palate, from casual dining to fine dining. I particularly love Babe's Chicken Dinner House, which serves some of the best fried chicken and biscuits I've ever had. I also enjoy hanging out in the Southlake Town Square, which offers a variety of restaurants and shops.
New Home Balance
Finally, my husband and I needed a newer home that required minimal maintenance, as we are not particularly handy people. The housing market in Texas has been very competitive, with very low inventory. However, we were able to find a newer home in Roanoke that was only five years old. This was a significant factor in our decision to move here.
In conclusion, Roanoke is a hidden gem in Texas that offers everything you could want in a city. It has small-town charm, easy access to big cities, a tight-knit community, great dining options, and newer homes. If you're considering moving to Texas, I highly recommend considering Roanoke as your new home.
